In 2015, this third generation enterprise started being being looked after by
Sitaram Chanekar's son, Rajaram Chanekar junior.
Named after his grandfather Rajaram Chanekar an Engineer by profession, chose to
quit his plush cushiony corporate job give wider wings to the vision of his
grandfather,( Rajaram Chanekar) which was further improvised upon, by his
father(Sitarm Chanekar)
Rajaram took over the reins of Chanekar Classic only to give the entrprise a better
infrastructure and customer base not only in Goa but beyon India as well.
In the year 2015 Rajaram Chanekar took the initiative and applied for GI classification
for the Khaje.
Just a year later Rajaram successfully acquired a GI tag for the Goan Khaje and is
legally authorised to used this GI tag
Today Rajaram not only ably handles this three generations old business but has also
made a lot of innovations in business strategies to keep up to the fierce competition
in food business.
This venture still operates from the same place where it was started...that is
besides the house where the Chanekars have their home in the beautiful town of Bicholim.
He has made this venture a partially mechanised one by introducing modern equipments
and machinary for pre- prepreation of the savouries so as to save on time.
But most of the important procedurces like frying etc is still done of wood stocked
fire which maintains the flavour and enhances the taste of the savoury items.
Rajaram Chanekar, the third generation entrepreneur of this venture
transformed this into the most renowned and reliable name in India’s food and
confectionary industry.
